Orley, van (i).
South Netherlandish family of artists. Originally from the region that is now Luxembourg, a branch of the family moved to Brabant where (1) Valentin van Orley was born. He and his first wife, Jeanne de Molder, had two children, (2) Bernard van Orley and Everard van Orley ( fl 1517); the latter’s work was previously attributed to his father.
