Hainzelmann [Heinzelman].

German family of engravers. Elias Hainzelmann (b Augsburg, ?1640; d Augsburg, 1693) was in Paris from 1665 to 1675, in the studio of François de Poilly I, but most of his career was spent in Augsburg. His surviving works include 22 religious subjects based on Francesco Albani, Annibale Carracci, Raphael and Tintoretto, several Thesenblätter and c. 80 realistic portraits, based on Johann Ulrich Mayr, Daniel de Savoye (1654–1716) and Andreas Stech. Although his style is occasionally rather dry, some works are of high quality, such as the over life-size portrait of Juliana Winckler (Hollstein, no. 94), presented as a bust on a small pedestal.
