Italian family of painters and goldsmiths. They worked mainly in and near Bologna. (1) Francesco Francia was the son of a carpenter. He had two sons, (2) Giacomo Francia and Giulio Francia (b Bologna, 20 Aug 1487; d Bologna, 22 Jan 1545).
