French family of artists. The printmaker Jean-Charles Flipart (b Abbeville, c. 1683; d Paris, 23 May 1751), a pupil of Nicolas-Henry Tardieu, is known to have produced c. 15 engravings; he collaborated with many others on illustrated works, notably Jean-Baptiste de Monicart’s Versailles immortalisé (1720–21).
