Nadia Arditti 'Sculptures'    4. Mrz - 16. Mrz 2013

Nadia Arditti was born in Istanbul in 1948 where she stayed until her family immigrated to Geneva. She completed her education in Lausanne and started painting (Atelier Martini, Geneva). After the birth of her two children she took up sculpting which became her life's passion (Atelier Irfan Korkmazlar,Istanbul). She has been living in Ostanbul since 1978.

Besides her basic material, bronze, she loves adding nature`s leftovers to her sculptures: stones from dry riverbeds, drifting wood from faraway beaches and sea shells from the south coast of Turkey, to name a few.

Nadia is carried away by a woman`s loves and envies; her self-doubts and happy moments; her inner strengths and outer reaches. She brings warm femininity to metallic cold and sheds patina light on obscure desires.

Her technique is the lost wax process, The colourful patinas are applied by the sculptress in her own workshop in an industrial zone north of İstanbul. Her work is to be found in private collections in Turkey, Switzerland, France, Belgium, Spain, China , USA, and the U.K.
