Galerie Gmurzynska will exhibit a group of large scale paintings
on banners commissioned by art world fixture Bill Katz and Jacqueline
Kennedy Onassis during the late 1970s and early 1980s.
The banner project was initiated for a benefit for the Louis Falco
Dance Company Katz co-hosted with Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis
in 1977. Including the most important artists working at the
time, such as Robert Indiana, Neil Jenny, Andy Warhol and Keith
Haring. A major catalogue will accompany the exhibition with
texts by Edward Albee, Robert Storr, Chuck Close, Francesco
Clemente, Philip Taaffe and Donald Baechler.
