Consistent in his theme of metamorphosis, Kamei has chosen the waters to stage his dramatic yet tranquil image. His passion towards the Vanitas style, intricately woven with aspects of Symbolism and Supernaturalism display an eerie atmosphere void of time. As a direct reflection of the painter himself, these subsequent self-portraits provide a candid look into Kamei’s romantic fascinations and obsessions.
