DTR Modern Galleries is pleased to present the newest collection of works by celebrated contemporary artist Hunt Slonem (b. 1951). Featuring a lush body of artwork, the exhibition will debut an array of paintings that delight in the color, texture and expression for which the artist is renowned. A master at capturing both the inner and outer beauty of his chosen subject, Hunt Slonem is fascinated by the manipulation of paint and works quickly to create jarring color juxtapositions that when combined with his trade-mark etching style, capture the light and dazzle viewers with an ethereal beauty.
As an artist of international prestige, Hunt Slonem is a veteran to one-man shows and his artwork hangs in over one hundred museums worldwide. Public collections of note include the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York, Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, Smithsonian Institution, Washington, Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, New York, Whitney Museum of American Art, New York, Chase Manhattan Bank, New York, Forbes, New York, and Goldman Sachs, New York.
Whether it is his compositions featuring the enchantment of elusive butterflies or the wonder of his extensive rare bird collection, Hunt Slonem’s gestured brushwork and bold Warholesque repetitive compositions capture the poignant beauty within each moment.
