Lehmann Maupin Gallery (Booth K15) is pleased to announce its participation in Art Basel Miami Beach from 6-9 December with a presentation of works by artists Billy Childish, Tracey Emin, Teresita Fernández, Angel Otero, Robin Rhode, Tim Rollins and K.O.S., Juergen Teller, Mickalene Thomas, and Nari Ward.

This year, the gallery will also participate in Art Basel Miami Beach's Art Kabinett and Art Video with a focus on the work of Berlin-based, South African artist Robin Rhode. For Art Kabinett 2012, Lehmann Maupin will present works that are representative of Rhode's multidisciplinary practice. The digital animation Open Court (2012) is a sixty-second loop in which a racket-wielding man hits snowballs against a Richard Serra sculpture. Rhode uses the Serra sculpture as a blank canvas in much the same way he utilizes other aspects of the urban landscape. The video will also be screened larger than life on the 7,000 square-foot outdoor projection wall of the New World Center as part of Art Video. The gallery will also present a selection of the artist's well-known photographic works which are composed of several still shots installed together to form a sequence of events.

Additional booth highlights include works by Tracey Emin, who will open a solo exhibition at MOCA Miami in December 2013; paintings and photographs by Mickalene Thomas, who currently has solo exhibitions on view at the Brooklyn Museum of Art and Lehmann Maupin Gallery through January 2013; and oil skin paintings by Angel Otero, whose first solo museum exhibition is on view at CAM Raleigh through February 2013.
