John Hancock Center

Chicago, IL USA

KM Fine Arts is pleased to announce an exciting exhibition during the Art Miami Fair in the Wynwood Arts District, featuring an extensive contemporary art installation to include new works by Los Angeles based artists Dana Louise Kirkpatrick, Cole Sternberg and Alexander Yulish along with significant paintings, drawings, and sculptures by American and European artists of early modernism, postwar, and contemporary art including Norman Bluhm, Fernando Botero, Alexander Calder, John Chamberlain, Carole Feuerman, Eric Fischl, Michael Goldberg, Robert Indiana, Wolf Kahn, Julie Mehretu, Joan Miro, and Andy Warhol. Three works will also be presented by LA artist Lori Hyland, selected panel speaker for Art W & IWA Collecting Women Artists symposium to be held on Dec 5th in the Maserati VIP Art Miami lounge.

Dana Louise Kirkpatrick is known for her bold, large-scale paintings and drawings which reference themes such as popular culture, religion, war, race, poverty, love and sex. Kirkpatrick’s sure, confident line work oscillates between being hard and dark or shaky and scrawling, dependent on the attitude of each piece. Dana Louise Kirkpatrick (b. 1976 Cambridge, MA) was raised in Washington DC. She studied Fine Arts at Georgetown University, graduating with honors in 2001 and receiving the DaVinci Medal for Excellence in Studio Art and the Misty Dailey Award for Outstanding Work in Studio Art. Kirkpatrick’s work is in a large number of private collections, including Lyndley and Samuel Schwab, Timothy Hutton, Flea, Anthony Kiedis, Tim Armstrong, Dana White, Gina Bellman, James D. Stern, Stephen Nemeth, Gabrielle Fialkoff, and Tony Hawk.

Cole Sternberg employs watercolor, heavy oils and spray paint, blending mediums to produce visually striking works. Paint often obscures text in his compositions, which at first glance may appear disordered, but are in fact laid out to convey detailed narratives. Born in Richmond, VA and raised in Saratoga, CA, Sternberg graduated from Villanova University with a B.A. in Business Administration and the Liberal Arts Honors Program and earned his JD at the Washington College of Law at American University. Sternberg has exhibited both nationally and internationally, including a solo show at The American University Museum in Washington, DC. His works are part of many major collections throughout the world.

Alexander Yulish
Through his exploration of the human psyche, Yulish began experimenting with a range of expression that he was able to access using lines and color. His influences can be found in the work of de Kooning, Bacon, Chagall, Gorky and the balance of Calder, strongly associating with abstract expressionism. Alexander Yulish was born in New York City in 1975. The son of famed fine artist and sculptor Barbara Pearlman, Alexander’s parents consistently encouraged their son to see the world in a uniquely personal way, fostering a fierce individuality and a sense of expression that is conveyed in his art. His works are in the collection of the Annenberg’s and Eugenio Lopez’s Collecion Jumex, who are among the many top collectors who have become supporters of Yulish’s work.
