KM Fine Arts, is pleased to announce an exhibition of
artworks from some of the most notable artists who played a key role in the transformation
of American art in the socially and politically complex climate of the postwar era. Using the
movements of Abstract Expressionism, Neo-Dada, and Pop the exhibition samples the
multivalent, and sometimes contradictory, modes of artistic production that arose on that artscene
and still influence artists today.
Abstract Expressionism would give way to "Neo-Dada", often considered a transitional
phase into Pop Art. The exhibition begins with works from Adolph Gottlieb, Robert
Motherwell, and Helen Frankenthaler moving on to Robert Rauschenberg, Jim Dine, and
John Chamberlain leading into the Pop movement with Tom Wesselman, Andy Warhol,
Keith Haring, Mike Kelly, and Kenny Scharf.
An expanded selection of more that 19 works are available from Robert Indiana's iconic
LOVE and HOPE. Robert Indiana created one of the most recognizable art images of the
20th century with L-O-V-E. His creation of H-O-P-E may be the first real icon of the 21st
century. Pop Art is the new Impressionism: with Robert Indiana's HOPE visually marking an
important event in history.
