BESCHREIBUNG:
|
portfolio of 6 prints, titled: A Cat in the Meat Trade, Etant Donnee, Larder, Melancholia, Memento Mori,
Still Life
This work developed out of Kentridge’s two years residency as the Max Beckmann Foundation chair at the Städel Museum in Frankfurt, Germany. Each photogravure is a synthesis of two not quite identical images which, when seen through the stereoscopic viewer, becomes a whole new space. These prints go beyond photographic and digital images. They support Kentridge’s ideas on transforming how the viewer sees.
