1921   Born in Boston, MA
1943   Moved to New York City and became a photojournalist for magazines such as Life, Look, and Ladies Home Journal.
1952   Married the photographer Morris Engel.
1953   Editor, co-director and co-writer of film, Little Fugitive, which received an Academy Award Nomination for Best Original Screenplay
1959   Named one of the “Top Ten Women Photographers in the U.S” by the Professional Photographers of America.
1974   Retrospective of her work at the Nikon House in New York
1976   Instructor at School of Visual Arts, New York
1977   Exhibition of work at The Witkin Gallery
1978   A World Through My Window published by Harper and Row
