1896   Began his training at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Le Havre under the teaching of the French painter Charles Lhuillier
1897 - 1903   Friesz was granted a scholarship and studied under Léon Bonnat at the École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts in Paris
1906   Traveled with Georges Braque to Antwerp
1907   Became a member of the Fauves
1905 - 1908   Associated with Matisse
1908   He moved to Normandy and abandoned Fauvism
1912   Opened his own studio
1914   Studied throughout Europe, influenced by Cezanne
1949   Died in Paris, France
1907   Exhibited with the Fauves
1904   Exhibited at the Salon d’Automne
1903   Exhibited paintings at the Salon des Indépendants
1900   Made his artistic debut at the Salon of the Société des Artistes Français
